GRANTWOOD - REDCROSS BIG B*A*S*H

The American Red Cross Grant Wood Chapter will host its 5th annual BIG B*A*S*H event at the PS
Air hangar. The event helps raise funds for the services provided by the Grant Wood
Area Chapter and will allow us to continue serving our local communities through
disaster relief, health education, emergency services, as well as meeting many other
communities needs. The BIG B*A*S*H is a military-themed event, including dinner from
Coralville Outback Steakhouse, live entertainment by Tricyclic, and a silent/live
auction. An estimated 400 upper level donors as well as a variety of community
leaders are expected to be in attendance. Area advertising for this event will
include promotions on Mediacom Cable, KCRG TV9, and other media outlets. Your
donation will be featured as part of a silent/live auction to help raise funds to
help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies in Eastern Iowa

University of Iowa Math Department
Sonia Kovalevsky Day

On April 3, 2010 The University of Iowa will host our fifth annual
Sonia Kovalevsky High School Mathematics Day. The purpose of the day
is to encourage young women in Iowa to consider pursuing careers in
mathematics and the related sciences. We will fill the day with
activities aimed at getting young women excited about mathematics. In
addition, we will have a panel discussion regarding career choices,
college/university choices, and life choices of female mathematicians.
The Department of Mathematics has already secured general funding for
the fourth annual Sonia Kovalevsky Day from the Association for Women
in Mathematics and several groups within the University of Iowa.
These funds will help pay for facility rentals, lunch for all
participants, and the many copies including flyers, letters, and

HOLY FAMILY SCHOOLS - ST. JUDE'S CENTER
SPRING CARNIVAL

The St. Jude's Spring Carnival is an annual event. It is a vital fundraising event to help our
school purchase books, computer equipment, etc. for the 3 centers that make up Holy
Family. St Jude's Center, St. Ludmila's Center and LaSalle Center.
This year the Spring Carnival will be held on Friday May 7th. at St. Jude's Center.
Families from all three centers are invited to attend and most plan to attend for a
night of fun and games for the kids and raffles and silent auctions for the entire
family!
We have appreciated past donations from Planet X and anything you would be willing
to donate would be a great addition to our raffle or silent auction!
Planet X would also be recognized through flyers and advertisements sent home with
the students.
